Building Mobile Capability
LEADING THE MOBILE CHARGE
You don’t need a consultant to tell you that mobile is where it’s at. But realizing the need for a more consistent, customer-focused, industry-leading mobile experience to set your brand apart on a global scale? That takes some savvy. And to make it happen takes leadership all the way through. Thankfully, that’s exactly what ACME brought to the table.
An interdisciplinary team of 14, a global scope of operations and a timeline tight enough to bounce a quarter off – those were just a few of the challenges presented when the world’s largest sports apparel retailer decided to take its mobile experience to the next level. And those are just a few elements that we orchestrated to bring this project in on time and under budget.
First came the project scope and schedule. With the holidays just a few months away, we knew that timing was critical. We got expectations in line, refined the scope of the project and clearly articulated the plan to make it happen.
Next came momentum. With a large and diverse team, well-planned leadership was essential. From managing skill sets to mediating team conflicts, we worked closely with each member to ensure not only alignment and positive momentum, but a strong team atmosphere focused on our goal.
Lastly, we always kept our eye on the clock. A complex task corralling talent from engineering to quality assurance meant there were plenty of plates to keep spinning. Again, our strong team work ethic came into play. Group sessions kept the lines of communication open and the whole shebang on schedule.
In the end, it all came off swimmingly. Aside from an on-time, under-budget launch, the project emerged 100 percent bug-free, a first for the client. The holiday shopping season turned out to be a big success as well, thanks in no small part to a new, sustainable customer shopping vehicle and a little in-the-trenches leadership from ACME.
