Plenty of people enjoy extracurricular pursuits as an escape from day-to-day life. And some are compelled to push the concept one step further. Like, say, Joe Galuszka. A simple escape isn’t enough; he has to escape from Alcatraz. And yes, that means swimming. And then biking. And then running. You see, Joe is a 10-time finisher at the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, one of the singular athletic challenges in America. If you think doing the same event 10 times might become, well, routine – it’s actually anything but. The course doesn’t change, but the circumstances are almost guaranteed to. Temperature, water current, wind and fog. Physical factors, mechanical glitches and even mental attitude. It’s the same, but it’s always different. It’s the same zest for ever-changing challenges that makes Joe a top performer in the world of IT Contract Optimization. If you’ve seen one enterprise agreement you’ve seen them all, right? Oh, no. Joe relishes the fact that every combination of new technology products, client requirements, vendor contract pricing, terms and conditions and professional services has a distinct set of conditions. So, just as he does at Alcatraz, he brings all his experience, training and preparation to the task – and then he stays flexible and deals with everything that comes up along the way. It’s a time-tested approach that has served him well through 25 years in the IT industry. Prior to joining ACME, Joe was Principal of Fulcrum Associates, specializing in IT contract optimization, negotiation and cost savings. Previously as Vice President of Gartner Consulting, Joe was responsible for the IT Cost Optimization practice on the West Coast working with Fortune 1000 clients. At Jetstream Group, he focused exclusively on IT negotiation and asset management projects along with his other Gartner Alumni Partners. Joe was a founding company officer at Scient, an eBusiness internet consulting and professional services firm that grew to $300 million in annual revenue in just three years. He opened Gartner’s first West Coast office in San Francisco and continued to expand operations throughout the Western US as a Vice President of Sales. Joe started his IT career at Hewlett-Packard. Joe is intent on providing project leadership to ACME’s clients as they strive to solve their toughest business problems. And no matter what comes up along the way, you can bet he’ll be ready to tackle it. After all, he’s not a 10-time Alcatraz starter; he’s a 10-time finisher. |
