Some people have a passion for things like travel, adventure, music and good food. Jason? His passion is trying new things. Which pleases him just fine, because it covers everything he can dream up. As a kid, he often wondered what it would feel like to fly. As soon as he was old enough, he learned how to pilot a plane, and later, jump out one. Wondering what it would feel like to trade places on the food chain, he took up scuba diving and quickly found himself swimming inches away from a dangerous bull shark. A few years back, Jason ran a marathon just to see if he could finish one. Says Jason, "I'm typically the first person to raise a hand when someone says 'Hey, have you ever done this? I'm thinking about giving it a try.'" Jason enjoys new challenges and likes to take risks, but he's no daredevil. Those who know him will tell you he is as disciplined as he is in love with the rush of adrenaline. Whether he's diving deep under the sea or helping a company resolve serious issues, careful planning always comes first. "If you're disciplined in your approach and do what is necessary to be safe, the risk of something going wrong falls," says Jason. "If something does happen, you're better prepared to deal with it." Jason's firm understanding of "calculated risk" coupled with his abilities to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to evolving environments makes him a valuable member of the ACME team. He's done everything from creating and implementing a business continuity program for an international oil and gas company (in the aftermath of one of the worst hurricane seasons on record) to managing a Japanese holding company's first strategic acquisition in the United States (without knowing how to speak Japanese). He has more than 12 years of industry and consulting experience, helping a wide range of clients navigate the sometimes tumultuous waters of running a business. Jason lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two children. When he's not coaching youth basketball or soccer, you can usually find him training for the Portland Marathon, prepping for his next diving and kiteboarding expedition, or looking for that next new thing to try. |
