Frankly, it would be an overstatement to say Jason has small-town roots. He actually has smaller than small-town roots. He grew up on a farm in Kansas. A young lad with dreams and ambitions that extended beyond the horizon into different fields. Jason has taken some interesting paths in his life. How did he go from a rural Kansas farm to become a rising star in business consulting? A combination of initiative, education and a strong work ethic implanted early in life. On the family farm, Jason learned to get his hands dirty and innovate in order to solve tough problems with limited resources. He gained other important skills, as well: how to build fences, plant seeds, harvest crops, and plan for future growth. He does the same range of work today, only in fields of commerce, not corn. In his first business role, Jason helped two friends start companies in the timber industry. One is now revolutionizing China’s forest industry through smart management techniques and reforestation. Jason harnessed this experience and used it to catapult him to a position with Accenture, where he helped clients of all sizes redesign systems and implement web-based strategies to sell their products. Eventually, Jason left Accenture to form his own start-up, which he turned into a success in two fast, hair-raising years. After some soul-searching, he succumbed to an intriguing offer from ACME (we can be very persuasive). Beyond his business and farming acumen, Jason is a nationally known workshop facilitator. He has a knack for building bridges and bringing people together. As far as formal education, Jason attended Kansas State University where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Although he’s now an urban dweller, he still goes back to the farm periodically and lends a hand – one that is less calloused than it once was. |
