Evan Downey
Evan Downey gets to the heart of the matter. He has a tendency to dig, deconstruct and dig some more until he discovers the root of a problem. Then he fixes it and puts everything back together better than before. He's taken his own computer apart three times; built entertainment systems; and made late-night code patches in Bangkok. But here's the thing, it's not that he's into tools, or hardware, or construction. He's into fixing. He's into making positive change happen.
Evan's resourceful approach is built on 10 years of weaving together technology projects and solutions with efficient business processes. He spent six years working internationally for General Electric, including time in Mexico, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan. While with GE, he supported the launch of three new international divisions, acting as the go-to guy for making sure things got done on time, on budget and above standards. From pulling pliers out of his trusty toolbox to resolving a serious system flaw and calling in a last-minute developer to assist with quality assurance, Evan honed his skills in problem solving and process improvement. Evan is trained in Six Sigma, as well as, Lean Processes and Value Stream Mapping. He earned his bachelor's degree from University of Tennessee, Knoxville and an International MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
Evan and his wife have recently relocated to Portland where they are reacquainting themselves with the United States after having spent the last six years abroad. Fluent in Spanish, they enjoy traveling the world and seeking out small towns and villages in the country-sides of Spain and Mexico. They also enjoy sounds of both "football" and "futol," depending on where they are at any given time. One thing is certain, the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," still stands, but if it is broken, chances are Evan's probably already tearing it apart.
