Dan Cadigan
Dan is one of six. Kids, that is. And that's a lot of Cadigans. With eight around the dinner table (he was raised back in the Brady Bunch days when families actually ate together), he learned the art of collaboration, collegiality and compromise. Not to mention sharing and listening. Although he cringes at the phrase "people person," ACME's Manager of Talent Acquisition enjoys nothing more than listening to and learning from anyone with an interesting story. Over the course of his career as an executive recruiter, he's reviewed thousands of resumes and recruited and interviewed a vast pool of employment candidates for banks, law firms and tech companies. Each candidate, colleague and client with whom he has interacted over the last 15 years has added to his appreciation for the potential that we all possess. Whether you're a diamond in the rough or, like ACME folks, a twenty-carat stunner, Dan wants to hear your story.
In addition to people, Dan loves words. He's working on a novel based in Portland and plans on pursuing a master's degree, then a Ph.D. in writing. These academic pursuits will mesh well with his J.D. and B.A. in philosophy / pre-law. As the youngest student in his law school class, Dan gravitated toward courses that emphasized writing (basically, every course) and consumed way too much caffeine. Although he's not one of those grammar cops who round-files every resume besmirched by a typo, he does want every professional businessperson to think about this: Was I a principal or a principle of my firm?
When he's away from ACME and not writing, Dan enjoys biking, hiking, nurturing friendships, and volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society. He's never met a dog he hasn't adored. Hanging out with grateful canines provides Dan with the ideal chance to practice his raison d'être: showing compassion to others. He and his partner in life are slowly, but surely renovating a 1903 Old Portland bungalow.
