Berdine Buck

If you want the ultimate project management challenge consider this one: Project Guide Teenage Daughter into Adulthood. The client doesn’t want the help, has her own ideas on how to make it happen, and it will be a decade (or more) before the return on investment is realized. Despite the timing on ROI realization there are multiple daily meetings to manage the various goals laid out on the project. As a project leader that means finesse as a communicator and motivator, and someone that takes the long view, but can dig in day after day, hour after hour to make sure the little stuff adds up to big success.

Berdine is also from another world. Or at least another part of it. South Africa, to be exact. Farther away from PDX than any crow would sanely fly. She arrived on our continent in 1995, bringing along her family, her skills, a really cool accent, and an international business perspective. Prior to her move here, Berdine had established a reputation in South Africa as a talented Systems Analyst. How that country ever let her leave is beyond us. We hope they don’t ask for her back (it could cause an international incident).

Once settled in the U.S., Berdine added to her skills and gained valuable experience working for Deloitte Consulting, SAP and PacifiCorp. She has accumulated significant experience in IT leadership and development, project and people management, strategic planning, contract negotiation and business consulting. Frankly, it was a no-brainer for us to hire her. Our clients (and ACME) are now the beneficiaries of her wide-ranging abilities and global perspective.

Berdine has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria. She loves to hike, cook, read, travel and hang out with her family. Her teenage daughter has approved this message. We sincerely thank her.
