Andy Macklin

Like the oil country from which he hails, Andy has deep reserves of energy bubbling just below a calm, unassuming surface. His roots dipped in crude, Andy grew up in the oil industry. His father’s career required the family to move often – from Oklahoma to London to Wyoming and back to Oklahoma. Living all over the world gave Andy a very wide perspective at a very young age and taught him how to thrive in new and sometimes challenging situations -- important attributes for any business consultant.

Following college, Andy joined General Electric where he spent more than two years working on various assignments in quality control, mergers and acquisitions, engine services and manufacturing. One day a light went on and he saw that he had very little life outside work. In a bold move, he left GE , and moved to Portland and joined a long-time friend in a new business adventure.

Adjusted in his priorities, Andy signed on to help start shoeS4Work, selling footwear to the hospitality industry. In two fast-moving years, Andy was integral in growing the business to $600k and 200 customers. It was that swift success with a startup that first caught ACME’s eye. Andy was quickly recruited by ACME for his ingenuity, synergistic approach and good old-fashioned work ethic.

Andy has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State, where he was Student Body Vice President and received the Top Five Graduating Mechanical Engineer award. Learning from his experience at GE, he has developed an active life outside work. It includes soccer, golf, hiking, family, tutoring, and renovating an old house with an old friend.
