Andy Macklin
Andy Macklin has a thing for listening. In fact, he’s so good at thinking and listening that it actually fuels him with energy. He is compelled to understand new situations and people and isn’t afraid to dive in and get dirty when it comes to putting what he’s learned into action. So, with a self-proclaimed “curious spirit” and “understated style” Andy is literally sitting on deep reserves of energy bubbling just below a calm, unassuming surface.
His roots dipped in crude, Andy grew up in the oil industry and today follows that heritage with his role as Energy Capability Lead at ACME. For the past four years he has listened, learned and lived a major $15 million mission-critical legacy system replacement project for a large, Pacific Northwest utility company. Relying on his breadth of industry experience and keen ability to comprehend the intersection of technology and business, the client is quick to ask Andy to assess new strategic initiatives to determine how overall operations and systems will be affected. Andy began his professional career at GE Aircraft Engines before tapping into his entrepreneurial spirit and founding a specialty footwear business that he grew to serve 200 customers and garner annual sales of $600,000 in the span of a fast two years. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University where he also received the Top Five Graduating Mechanical Engineer award.
Having learned the value of work/life balance early in his career, Andy is at home at ACME – and in Portland. An aspiring triathlete, he is also a father, avid reader and foreign cuisine foodie. The truth is, if it offers the opportunity to learn, try and know something new, Andy is there – ready to soak it in and fuel up on energy.
