Consider it done

LEADERSHIP IS OUR CORE COMPETENCY.

The ACME form of leadership is both left- and right-brained. Our left brains bring real-world analytical skill, methodology (but not orthodoxy) and efficient strategic thinking. Our right brains bring the creativity, sensitivity and smarts to navigate the unknowns and the political landscape that comes with every significant business transformation project.

MORE POWER TO YOUR PEOPLE.

We help make your people, vendors and budgets better able to achieve specific and critically important objectives. As leaders we are catalyzers, enhancers and force multipliers. That means by adding just a little, you gain a lot. In consulting parlance, we are a non-leveraged model. We deliver specific leadership to a specific challenge for a specific amount of time – and that creates a force-multiplier effect to your existing resources.

MINIMUM DISRUPTION. MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.

Hire us because you have something vitally important you need to get done – and you want it done with minimum disruption and maximum efficiency. We focus, augment and enable your success.

As people, we are as humble and ego-free as we are
creative and tenacious.

WE DON'T MATTER. RESULTS DO.

When a great leader has done their job well, and the objective has been achieved, the team members look at each other and say, “We did it.” At the end of an engagement, we aim to leave behind a powerful sense of team unity and a feeling of accomplishment based on completion of a mission-critical business objective. And that’s about you, not us. That’s why we chose the most generic name we could come up with.

WE'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE.

As individuals, ACME’s leaders all possess wisdom acquired through many years of solving complex business challenges. Most have spent time at a Big 5 firm. Many have advanced degrees. All have a long list of past successes. As a firm, we are closing in on a decade of successful engagements across a broad range of business evolution challenges and a diverse array of industries.

WE LOVE THIS STUFF.

Once, a client interrupted us during a meeting to say: “I get the feeling you would do this for free.”

The people at ACME have all decided to walk away from the traditional consulting firms because we do not want to sit behind a desk selling work that others execute. We all love solving problems, leading and seeing projects through until the end too much to be mere observers.

Community committed

OUR LIFE BEYOND WORK. YES, IT EXISTS.

As Winston Churchill so aptly put it: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. And yes, all of us at ACME do indeed have a life. We feel it’s important to get away from work and give our time and passion to programs and organizations that benefit our community. To be honest, it’s part of our growth model and we enjoy it.

Every ACME employee is offered an annual one-week paid sabbatical to devote to community service. It’s been used in a variety of ways – volunteering at a summer camp for kids impacted by HIV/AIDS, improving the habitats for animals at our local zoo and simply helping kids learn to read. We also actively apply our leadership skills by participating on local community boards, leading panels, and providing pro-bono strategic planning and project management services.

Within the past three years, ACME has provided over 2000 man and woman hours to our local community. And we are just getting started.

ACME Basics and Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DOES ACME DO?

ACME provides exceptional leadership to our clients in support of their most vital initiatives. We help companies assess their business problems and opportunities, architect solutions, and lead teams through the implementation of mission-critical, complex projects. Our singular focus is to provide business-oriented results that drive revenue growth, reduce internal cost and inefficiencies, optimize and integrate technology, and/or build organizational capabilities.

WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS DO YOU LEAD?

ACME manages a wide range of projects that deliver transformative change in organizations, process and systems. Our services include assessments, solution development and selection, complex technology implementation and program management. ACME specializes in driving meaningful results from ambiguous business problems.

HOW DO YOU LEAD PROJECTS?

We use a facilitative, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to project leadership. We work alongside our clients to achieve those results. Rather than sending in a large, invasive team, we typically provide one (or two) consultants that will lead client and vendor teams throughout the initiative. ACME consultants work at the client site and are fully dedicated to the engagement that they are working on. In our experience this is less disruptive for our clients, and, more important – delivers a higher return on investment.

DO YOU RECOMMEND SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS OR USE SPECIFIC METHODOLOGIES?

ACME is solution and methodology agnostic. While we have extensive experience with a variety of solutions and methodologies, we recognize that one size does not fit all. We do not presuppose a solution, approach or methodology to the business problems that we solve.

WHERE DO YOU WORK?

We currently operate offices in Portland, OR and Seattle WA, with plans to grow. Unlike so many big firms, we keep our consultants in their respective home towns working with local/global companies. We find that the commitment level to the success of home-town companies, the efficiency of no travel expenses, and the ability to eat dinner with the family allows us to recruit better talent, and, consequently, deliver better results.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?

Scott Demorest, Peter Lizotte, and David Kelleher founded the firm in 2002.

WHO'S THE TYPICAL ACME CONSULTANT?

ACME is comprised of senior-level consultants with extensive experience in leading, large complex projects. Many ACME consultants have years of experience in large, global consulting firms and/or Fortune 500 companies and graduate degrees, primarily in business. In addition to exceptional professional and educational experience, ACME selectively recruits individuals who have a high degree of professional integrity and excel at getting the right things done.

WHAT IS ACME'S OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE?

ACME is an LLC owned by 3 principals: Scott Demorest, Peter Lizotte and David Kelleher.
